Our Simple 5-Step Process

Here’s a step-by-step guide to your roofing project, so you know exactly what to expect.

Step 1: Getting Started

Contract Signing: We’ll begin by signing the agreement that confirms all the project details, including the work we’ll do, the schedule, and the total cost.

Deposit Payment: A deposit officially kicks off your project and books your spot in our schedule.

Step 2: Preparing Your Roof

If Repairs Are Needed (As Quoted)

Our roofing repair partners will complete the roofing repairs we’ve already quoted. This ensures your roof is in the right condition for the new membrane.

Note: This is when our assessment team has been to the site and scoped the repairs already.

Or

If No Repairs Were Initially Quoted

We’ll begin with a quality check to assess the condition of your roof. If we find any issues, we will provide a quote for any necessary extra repairs. Once you approve, our team will complete this work.

Note: This is usually for remote locations or when we have not been to site.

Step 3: Membrane Application

Progress Payment: Before we start applying the coating, a progress payment is due.

Scaffolding (If Required): For safety, we’ll set up scaffolding if needed to give our team secure access to the roof.
Materials Arrive: All the necessary materials for your new roof coating will be delivered to your property.
Roof Clean: We’ll give your roof a thorough cleaning to ensure the new membrane bonds perfectly.
Membrane Installation: Our team will apply the high-quality KiwiSeal membrane system to create a durable, weatherproof, and long-lasting seal for your roof.

Step 4: Final Checks

Final Inspection: We conduct a detailed final quality check to make sure every aspect of the work meets our high standards and that you are completely satisfied with the result.

Step 5: Project Completion

Final Payment: The final payment is due once the project is complete and you have a fully protected roof.

Kiwiseal Frequently asked questions

Is Kiwiseal Right for me?

Kiwiseal is a revolutionary new liquid membrane roof coating that works on many different roofing surfaces in various conditions. Kiwiseal has a large number of applications; however, if the underlying condition of the roof isn’t sufficient to support the membrane, a warranty cannot be provided on the application. We will discuss all the details with you and make a detailed assessment of the suitability of Kiwiseal for your property, providing these details as part of your quote.

Can I drink tank water after Kiwiseal has been applied to my roof?

Kiwiseal is a high-performance polyurethane acrylic water-based membrane solution that is completely VOC-free (NO volatile organic compounds). It’s completely safe to walk on and to consume rainwater collected from a roof after the application of Kiwiseal.

What type of Guarantees and Warranties does Kiwiseal have?

Kiwiseal and Kiwiseal Pro have different warranties depending on the circumstances that can vary based on the application. Provided the underlying roof condition is sufficient to support the membrane, typically a 2-coat application will have a warranty of 10 years, while a 3-coat application will also have a warranty of 10 years. We will clarify the warranty on a case-by-case basis and include this information in your quote for your reference.

How long does Kiwiseal take to install?

Kiwiseal liquid membrane applications start with a chemical clean to kill off moss and mold, followed by a thorough waterblast to clean the entire surface. From there, patching, masking off, and drop sheets are used to prepare the surface, and a rust buster treatment is applied to stop any further degradation of the roofing material. Two coats of self-priming liquid membrane coatings are then applied to complete the coating system. This process typically takes between 2-4 days from start to finish and is weather dependent.

Do you need scaffolding to apply Kiwiseal?

Scaffolding is not often required for Kiwiseal installations under 25 degrees; however, health and safety compliance is assessed on a job-by-job basis. We will discuss this with you in person and include the requirements in your quote to ensure safety protocols are upheld across all applications. Your quoted price will be all-inclusive, covering everything needed to get the job done.

What if my existing roof is Asbestos?

Kiwiseal can be used to encapsulate asbestos roofing, locking in the toxic materials and making it safer. While we can't water blast the roof first, we apply a moss and mold killer initially. Afterward, Kiwiseal can be applied over the roof, sealing in the asbestos and providing all the normal aesthetic, waterproofing, and warranty benefits, along with encapsulating the asbestos.
